Volunteer

Do you have the time and the ability to help search for lost dogs in your area? If so, we would love to have you as a volunteer. We are always looking for committed volunteers who care deeply about returning lost dogs to their loving owners. You do not need to be a pet owner yourself, just someone who loves animals and would like to help in the search for missing dogs. It really does help to reassure a distressed owner knowing that others are concerned and doing whatever they can to help. You can help out by keeping an eye on our FLED Facebook page for sightings in your area. But we would also love it if you would sign up as a FLED volunteer. There are two main types of volunteer: Spotters and Searchers. Some volunteers also serve as safe homes for found dogs.

Spotters:

Anyone can become a FLED spotter! For instance, are you a taxi or bus driver, a delivery person, a dog walker? Do you regularly walk your own dogs? We want to hear from anyone who, during the normal course of their day, can take the time to help by posting notices, spreading the word or other services as required for a Spotter.

Searchers

Searchers should be physically fit, and be able to hike through trails or wooded areas. We want to hear from anyone who can take the time to help by searching an area where a lost dog has been spotted for more sightings or signs that the dog may still be there. If you would like to be a searcher, definitely let us know if you have any extra skills that might help out, like horseback riding, ATVing, rock climbing, etc.
