PSA - WHAT TO DO IF YOU THINK YOU SEE A STOLEN DOG
🐶 WHAT DO I DO IF I THINK I SEE A STOLEN DOG OR A DOG WHO LOOKS OUT OF PLACE. 🐶
Our advice to anyone who sees a dog and believes it might be stolen or out of place, PLEASE do not approach the person and ask them anything.. Take your phone out, take a photo, note where this dog is and contact FLED ( if on Vancouver Island) If you approach a person with a dog and they know that dog is stolen, they may get rid of the dog. If you approach a person, with a suspicious dog, and they don’t know they have a possible stolen dog, you may scare the hell out of them as they didn’t know. They may have honestly bought the dog from someone and are totally innocent of the situation. By a concerned citizen following what we have suggested, we maybe more successful at getting stolen dogs back to their families.
TERESA WRITES:
When you have your phone out for taking photos, be discreet. I’ve ‘pretended’ I was taking a photo of a scene close to person and dog. Or if you do a video you can do screenshots off of it.
And try to get any vehicle photos and license plate.
AND THIS JUST MIGHT BE THIS PERSON’S DOG.
