I’m just getting on the ferry to Crofton right now, and a family of tourists just let their dog run off into the woods beside the terminal. They decided that the dog wasn’t worth sticking around for, walked away saying oh well, he’s gone I guess, and have boarded the boat. His name is Walter, he looked like a shepherd/Belgian travern. If you find this dog congratulate him for escaping such horrible people, and give him a good home. He’s around this area in Vesuvius. If anybody has any information or thinks they have seen this dog please call the spca hotline, or myself

~An update~

I was unable to find the people who left Walter.

No I did not get a plate number, picture, or clear image of the people. The spca has been informed as have other rescues. BC ferries has also been informed. Yes I am just as angry about animal neglect as you are and, I am currently doing my best to try and find Walter. I know people have been looking since the boat left (10:50) this morning and I thank those who have taken the time to do so. If you see Walter, or any dog, please do not chase or try to corner him, this could scare him and make him run from the area he was abandoned at. Instead leave bowls of food and water around and talk to your neighbours. Please do not call the crd we do not want this dog taken to a pound or by Wolfgang.
