UNRESOLVED - COOMBS BC. / WD40 / PULLED OFF THIS CASE NOV. 26, 2023 - VERY FRUSTRATING AND VERY ANGRY

UPDATE

Sadly, FLED is having to pull out of the search and trapping of WD40.

The other half of this team is also pulling out and therefore because we are not experienced in these wolfdogs, we can’t go any further.

It appears that Animal Control now has a trap set up. We have no idea if it is monitored with a camera, but it sure should be.

This NEVER should have had to come to this.

IF Conservation would have helped weeks ago, all the injured dogs and the death of this little Frenchie would never have happened.

The team experienced with these dogs and FLED, would have had WD40 off to Alberta where he would have got to live out his years in a safe environment.

We KNOW that Conservation Officers have tranquilizing guns, and we know some farmers do, but we don’t think Animal Control carry them. If they did, why has this gone on for so long.

This could have been over in the first few weeks, IF signs were not pulled down in the areas, and if people would have NOT tampered with the trap door. We know he became very smart about the trap, but he was interested in the beginning. However now we will never know.

WE know there are other wolfdogs out there in those areas who are bred by irresponsible humans.

Maybe Conservation and Animal Control, and the RCMP, should all sit down, and figure out some way of controlling this cruel act, and working together to SAVE them, rather than kill them, as there are special sanctuaries for them.

We would like to thank the community who helped us with sightings, and those wanting to help find a way to bring this to a positive end.

We would love to know what the reason behind why Animal Control, and the Conservations excuse will be when the FACT is, this dog was deemed a PET, as he obviously lived with people. For how long, we don’t know. We also know that the strong gene in this guy is wolf.

In our opinion, the life of WD40 was severely FAILED by the authorities who could have helped him and saved these other dogs from injuries and little Frenchie from death.

FLED and our team send our sincere condolences to the family of this little Frenchie, and our apologies to the owners of the injured dogs.
